Juan Aurich at home beats Bolívar who remains winless so far. The match was in Estadio Elías Aguirre, Chiclayo Peru with an attendance of 15,000. The Referee was Patricio Polic (Chile). Juan Aurich now has the chance to regroup and make a push for second position in Group 3 just under Alianza Lima. There are a lot of games left in this stage and Juan Aurich will end up competing against Alianza soon. Luis Tejada and Ricardo Ciciliano each scored goals in the game and then Juan Aurich played down a man for the last 51 minutes. Cruzeiro Brazil beat Chile Colo-Colo 4 – 1 at Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto (Mineirão), Belo Horizonte Brazil. The attendance was 32,927 with Referee: Óscar Ruiz (Colombia). Two red cards were awarded to Colo-Colo for bad behavior in the second half, 62′ (pen.), 72′ (pen.) Once Caldas Colombia 2 – 1 Brazil São Paulo
Once Caldas Colombia over Brazil São Paulo 2 – 1 at Estadio Palogrande, Manizales in Columbia. The attendence was 35,000 and the Referee was Pablo Pozo (Chile). Blooming gets thumped again when Lanús showed them, in a 4-1 routing, that they are still fighting for a spot in the next round. Fought in Estadio Ramón “Tahuichi” Aguilera, Santa Cruz Bolivia, under a crowd of only 8,000 people. Bolivia is not looking so good in this tournament. The referee was Evandro Roman (Brazil). Universitario Peru 0 – 0 Paraguay Libertad
For the third time in as many weeks Universitario has battled to bring Peruvian futbol to a more international stage. This game in Estadio Monumental, Lima Peru, proved to be brutal. Fighting for first position in Group 4, Universitario could only tie at home and stay even with Libertad at 7 points, but lag by three goals overall. The attendance was 30,000 and the referee was Omar Ponce (Ecuador). Check (www.conmebol.com) for more.
